San Diego has a reputation for being the premier zoo in the world...and there's good reason for it. With over 4,000 animals and more than 800 different species, the San Diego Zoo is also one of the few zoos in the world that is home to the giant panda.

GOING TO BALBOA PARK


Balboa Park is a 1200-acre park named after Spanish explorer Vasco Nunez de Balboa. The landscape of the park is filled with beautiful and in some cases, rare trees. Many of the trees were planted by renowned landscape designer Kate Sessions.
Head to the El Prado area of the park for cultural attractions like the San Diego Museum of Man, San Diego Museum of Art, Greenhouses, and many, many others. There are also many outdoor areas with sporting fields, jogging areas, and outdoor attractions like horseshoe pits and playgrounds.
